Help Us to Continue to Improve Healthcare, Educational, Trade Programs and more in the coming year, while fostering Better Relations between the US and Vietnam!

For more than 28 years, the San Francisco – Ho Chi Minh City Sister City Committee has led the way in supporting and promoting programs between the US and Vietnam, and in particular between the two cities.

We have funded programs related to wheelchairs, Hepatitis B, autism, Aids/HIV and education. Books and learning programs have been donated to support the library system of the city and a primary school. We have promoted trade and commerce and are proud of our successful effort to have non-stop direct fights between the two cities. We also raised money to help fund a vaccine program for the Vietnamese through UNICEF.

We are not funded by governmental entities and are solely dependent upon the goodwill and contributions of people like YOU.

The Committee’s formation in 1995 pre-dates that of the normalization of relations between the US and Vietnam. Bilateral meetings between the people of the two Sister Cities has led to a better understanding of the needs of the people of Vietnam. Several times this year, the Mayor of San Francisco and others have met with the Chairman of the Peoples’ Committee of HCMC (Mayor) to issues in a number of areas, including education, healthcare, environment and public safety, as well as transportation and tourism.
